The Power of Place: The Creation of Sacred Spaces

John G. Kruth, Executive Director of the Rhine Research Center.  USA

You walk into a room, and you immediately feel peaceful and calm. A new city seems like home even though you’ve never visited before. The building on the corner draws your attention, and you have a strong need to go inside.

Everyone has felt the power of place and recognized the unusual connection they feel to a location. Some of these locations hold this same attraction for many people, which can cause them to become sacred spaces.  Does psi have a role in creating a sacred space?  How have experimental projects in PK and Healing contributed to our knowledge of spaces that hold energies.

John G. Kruth will explore the nature of some spaces at the Rhine Research Center that have become sacred and projects that reveal how location and place might be developed or hold information that will influence future psi activity at that site. The integration of scientific studies and insights based on research findings help to shed light on the nature of psi experiences and whether a space might hold an energy or spirit that can be felt and possibly used by people who visit that space.

Bio:

John G. Kruth is the Executive Director of the Rhine Research Center (www.rhine.org) and the Founder and Education Director of the Rhine Education Center (www.rhineedu.org). His 20+ years of professional technology experience and 10+ years as a professional researcher provide a unique insight into the integration of technology and parapsychological research. His research includes explorations into subtle energies of the body including psychic healing, the energy behind psychokinesis, poltergeist activity and other unconscious effects on electronic devices, and measurements of biophotons (ultraviolet light) from energy healers.

He has numerous publications and has spoken at professional conferences and other forums regarding scientific parapsychology, the history of the Rhine, the nature of energy healing, poltergeists, and other topics related to parapsychology and the paranormal.

Besides his research, John’s current projects include the development of a community of psi experiencers at the Rhine and worldwide through the use of technology to provide online courses, broadcasts of parapsychology speakers and events, and the development of online resources for scientists and those who are looking for reliable and professional information about scientific parapsychology.

What we can learn from 500 accounts of Near-Death Experiences

Professor Douglas Charles Hodgson, Lawyer, Researcher, Author.  WA

Professor Hodgson will speak on the research which formed the basis of his latest book which examines hundreds of intriguing first-hand accounts of people who have undergone a near-death experience (NDE) and what was revealed to them while outside their physical bodies, including revelations into the afterlife, why we are here and the nature of the soul-consciousness.

These accounts contain vivid descriptions of Heaven and the higher spiritual realms, the eternal nature of the soul-consciousness and its evolutionary journey, the purpose of our Earthly life, the laws of the universe, the nature of positive and negative energy, the significance of the human body and its eventual demise, and our spiritual rebirth and life-review.

Going beyond the current near-death experience literature which mainly examines the religious, philosophical, scientific and medical aspects of NDEs, Professor Hodgson’s research and book concentrate on the common and recurring messaging, observations and insights which have been brought back from beyond the veil for humanity’s knowledge and benefit. Some of this messaging from the Other Side is truly remarkable and, in a few cases, tests the limits of our human comprehension and Earthly experience. The direct voices of the experiencers themselves may provide comfort and assurance particularly for the terminally ill, those who fear death and those who have suffered a difficult bereavement.

Bio

Professor Douglas Hodgson’s career as a lawyer, lecturer, researcher, university administrator, author and human rights advocate in Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand spans four decades. He has published widely in the fields of causation law and the international human rights of children. He served as a peer reviewer and grants assessor for the Australian Research Council and is an attender and alumnist of the Oxford Round Table.

Upon his retirement from the position of Dean and Professor of Law, Professor Hodgson turned his research and writing efforts to a study of spiritual wisdom and virtue. His book entitled Transcendental Spirituality, Wisdom and Virtue: The Divine Virtues and Treasures of the Heart is scheduled for publication release in May, 2023. His latest book entitled Spiritual Revelations from Beyond the Veil: What Humanity Can Learn from the Near-Death Experience decouples spirituality from a religious context and delves into the important messages those who have experienced an NDE have for humanity.

The Australian Skeptics $100,000 Challenge

James Barker, Psychic Sceptic & Author.

From an early age James Barker has had dreams that came true. In 2007, he dreamt of a murder and saw the murderer’s surname. A few months later it came true. This was when James decided to enter the Australian Skeptics $100,000 Challenge.  James thought of it as an opportunity to help further the study of the paranormal. He expected the Skeptics to be open minded scientists, eager to further the scientific study of the paranormal. Boy was he wrong.  This speech will discuss the background of trying to enter the Skeptic’s Challenge, the dreams that were submitted, and the end results.

Bio:

James E. Barker is a psychic skeptic who has a passion for research and writing. Since 2010, he has been researching the paranormal while also documenting his entry in 2007 to the Australian Skeptics $100,000 Challenge. This Challenge is for anyone with supernatural powers to prove it to the Skeptics. James did, but they did not pay him any money. Instead, they labelled the seven (and only seven) precognitive dreams he sent them over eight months as coincidences even though they all came true.
